Business Grant Opportunities
- Storefront Improvement Grant – Rice EDC
– Open for businesses in the Rice City Limits. This is a reimbursement program, plan ahead and connect with us early.
– 50% reimbursement for exterior improvements (grant funds are limited to $25,000 available, they will be awarded based on approval)
– Signage, paint, lighting, entryways, etc
– Project approval is required before work begins - Digital Ready $10,000 national grant – Verizon Small Business
For owners of for-profit small businesses based in the United States, who are 18 or older. - Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF)
Awards “deal-closing” grants to companies considering a new project for which one Texas site is competing with other out-of-state sites. - Skills for Small Business Program – Texas Workforce Commission (TWC)
For businesses with fewer than 100 employees for training new and incumbent employees.

Grant Application Tips
- Make a list of projects or goals you would like to accomplish. Include how they will help increase revenue, scale your production, and lead to your success. Use data and references to support your application.
- Research and bookmark grants you would like to apply for. Make a list of their eligibility requirements, award amounts, and application deadlines.
- Gather the required information and documentation. Here are some basics: contact information/location, how many years you’ve been in business, number of employees, tax IDs/records, and financial statements.
- Review your application carefully. Pay attention to all requirements. Be specific and clearly show why you’re an ideal candidate for support.
