On Saturday, August 6th at 10 AM the doors opened to smiling Rice ISD students and their families. Each student received a lunchbox and backpack filled with school supplies for their grade level.
The lunch boxes and backpacks were donated by local business Arizona Charlie’s and the MDMYA (Mike Dicken’s Memorial Youth Association). Local sponsors, Harmony Bank, B & B Auto Sales, Shell, Rent-A-Center,Jenny Lou’s Baking Goods, Pixels & Scribbles, and DW’s Video helped purchase supplies and provide snacks for the event.
Rice City Council members and Event Committee volunteers came together on Thursday evening before the event to fill back packs and organize supplies for the event.
Over 140 students picked up a back pack during the Back to School Bash. The City of Rice is dedicated to our students having the best school year possible.
